Yes as with most things that get released, a patch is released immediately, and so the first patch for the 2012 skins has been released. This patch updates the KS2 skin, it didn't look right so I made some changes and it looks a bit better now. Grab it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?bw3w2jbo9wj9lpd More news tomorrow.

Version 2 of the 2012 car livery set is now available to download and to use by all vermin Racing drivers and online competitors so they can see the VRT skins in online races Click here to download All cars have been slightly updated and all the drivers helmets are included. Vermin Racing Team Drivers please read this SECTION for more information. The 2012 carset will be used for any remaining races in 2011 aswell as all races in 2012. Any driver additions or changes to the carskins will now be issued through patches to save everyone download the same files each time, but they must have this Base pack installed to install any patches. More news updates later in the week. Tip I guess it's a good thing the season at C.O.G.S hasn't started nad also that the 2011 radiators one hasnt either because hopefully within the next week or so there will be a new carset coming out. The newest verstion will include Slava's helmet (he is testing a temporary one which is pictured and also desinging his own), his car livery and number and some small tweaks to some of the liverys for all the cars. Any furter updates to the driver line up will be released as patches so you dont have to keep downloading the same file each time. When the car set is finished I will post a link and instructions for the Vermin Racing Team drivers. But the download is availble to anyone. By downloading and installing the newest carset, when you race against a VRT driver you will see his livery and helmet design, not just another generic netkar standard skin. so its worth downloading, unless you like to race with generic skinned cars.
Head on over to the C.O.G.S. forum as well to read about some testing. Tip A brilliant display of driving skills by everyone! The racing was amazing throughout the whole event! I came into this race being less confident of being competitive than at any other race I have participated in on Radiators, but in general the event just got better and better for me. My qualifying didn't go to well, I think most people were getting alot of traffic, but the times were so close from about 4th to 10th it was amazing! I think if I had been able to get another couple of clean laps in I would of moved slightly up the field, but even then with everyone being so closely matched, It wouldn't of made that much of a difference, I finished up qualifying 8th! I knew that it was down to pacing myself in the race to make up any places in the race. The race got underway and I got a brilliant start, braking early into turn one, I was aware there was a driver coming down my inside so I gave them enough room, just getting a little tap as I turned into the corner, then avoiding the accident up ahead, the racing over the first 4 laps was intense, at one point Andrea and I were side by side battling through almost every corner throughout a lap!, Vincent must of had a connection issue as he was comfortably in the lead, then all of a sudden disconnected, it moved me from 5th to 4th, I was slowly closing on 3rd with each lap but not enough to trouble them, I was able to extend the gap between me and the guys behind so I settled into a good race pace and took 4th at the chequered flag. The second race, I was alot more confident with my race setup, I got another great start narrowly avoiding a stalled car on the grid and once again the battling with Matt was awesome, he managed to get the inside line on one of the corners so I had to brake and take a wide line and that dropped me back, but with each lap I was able to either catch or match his pace, and he was dragging me along closer and closer to Chris who was running 2nd. I decided to make a slightly earlier pitstop on lap 14 as I could feel the tyres going off, and I had started to slide about alot, a fast pitstop meant I could get back out without losing too much time, once Chris and Matt had made their stops I could see I had lost a little bit of time, but the car felt so much better than it did before pitting, I was able to pump in fast consistent times, closing the gap to them both and pulling away from 5th place. It came to about lap 26 or 27 and I had caught right up with them both, however my tyres were going completely off and on that lap I started to drop back a little bit, on that same lap I saw Matt and Chris both had gone off the track, possibly they collided I wasn't quite close enough to see how it happened, but it meant I had moved into 2nd place, but there was no way I was ever going to catch Vincent with about 3 laps to go and being 50 seconds down the road, but I could see the gap to 3rd was huge so I just nursed the car around the track being very easy on the tyres so not to slide off the track, and this allowed me to keep hold of 2nd in the race! I never would of thought that 2nd was possible when qualiying started, so I was very pleased. It was an extremely exciting event! Everyone drove to the usual excellent standard and now I look forward to the final round at Autumn Ring! Race 1 Results:

Tip Vermin Racing is pleased to announce our newest member of the team, Vyacheslav "Slava" Potapenko. An established KS2 driver and welcome addition to our ever growing team. Welcome Slava, So, the team is coming together nicely on the netkar side of things, with C.O.G.S. championship also offering a team position for the top independant driver, we are nearly at capacity on the netkar side of the team. I think 6 is probably the limit for netkar drivers right now. I would like to start recruiting drivers for other sims and making sub managers for each sim to the most experienced driver or driver who would like to take that role on, Then I can concentrate on the overall running of things, such as setups, car skins and helmets for all sims, team events, etc and the netkar side of the team, also this would allow me to focus on other things in my life outside of sim racing, with over managers looking after their area with the full support of Vermin Racing behind them.
Anyway, Monza tonight. This should be great fun, it is one of my favourite tracks well suited to my driving style of fast sweeping corners, I havent been too quick in the practice events but I think I can pull it together for tonight's races, It's all very close in terms of time and my running on the track has been a bit limited but competitive. So good luck to all and look for the Race report either tonight or tomorrow. Tip Wow, got to give a huge thanks to the inside Sim Racing guys, Vermin racing was featured in their latest edition. Check it out here: http://youtu.be/BCawt3AbsbU and Inside Sim Racing Nearing the pen-ultimate round of the All series league (yeah anothe date was added for December so that means there is one more round after Monza), I am going to be busy getting the setup right in monza over the next couple of days ready for the race. C.O.G.S stuff is coming along nicely check that out over at http://cogsc.weebly.com There isnt much to say this week. I have been quite busy with the C.O.G.S server stuff and its nearly all sorted out so there isn't much to do now in terms of setting that up. so I am concentrating on Radiators A.R.S. Monza round hopefully will be quick enough for a top 10 the setup feels good, just got to tweak it for that little bit more out of the car.
Autumn Ring has been added to the calender as it was post-poned earlier in the season, which is good and bad news for me, good news as I have an extra race to race in, bad news because I might not have too much time to set up my car as December will be a busy month for me. I think as soon as Monza is over and done with I will quickly get some laps done on the Autumn Ring and see if I can narrow down a setup quickly. Anyway I will be online in the Monza ranked servers and things today after getting some things done, So will see you all on track :) Tip You might notice the website has changed a bit, well its the start of a new look, I thought that the dark look was a little hard to read and confusing so I have been fiddling around with the designs and hopefully with the lauch of COGS will see the Vermin website improve along side it Anyway some server testing for COGS will take place saturday, already been testing the live stream capibilties. worked quite well.
Going to do some testing for Radiators All Series Monza and racing on any servers tonight. so see you on track! Tip Introducing C.O.G.S. Gustavo has been busy working on rules for the first winter C.O.G.S. winter championship. You can now sign up over at the C.O.G.S website. So the sign ups are open, we hope to get a full grid of drivers. Please visit the C.O.G.S site for more details. I think we need to finalise the points system and still unsure about prizes for the league.
Anyway, other news I heard back from Inside Sim Racing this week, the excellent sim racing show on the web! I contacted them about promoting smaller sim racing teams and leagues, and they thanked me complimented me on the Vermin Racing site, so hopefully they will help spread the word about Radiators and C.O.G.S as well as Vermin Racing Team. I really want to see the team grow and branch out into other sim titles with other drivers, whilst providing support and a web portal to be a proper team and compete with the big boys. My first priority set for the team is nearly at its end, with the final race of 2011's All series the team is 10th in the Radiators Championship (although we would be higher if they merged Herman's accound over there because his points aren't registered) after only competing in 3 rounds, proving that we could compete with the big boys in netkar. With me 17th in the championship I can basically only get about 12th by the end of the season but that is good enough for me when there are so many top class drivers and a good place to start off from for next year. I also want to highlight Ferrari Virtual Academy - developed by Kunos, this was released the other day and looks amazing, check it out over at http://www.ferrarivirtualacademy.com/game/en/index.jsp there is no online play though which is dissapointing. Me personally... well I have been playing a FREE game called Nitronic Rush! I Havent had much time to play online this week, I have been busy with alot of artwork, but I have been firing this up everytime I have had a bit of downtime, It's just a simple arcade racing game but its very addictive and a fun break from the serious sims, worth playing for the price of nothing! http://nitronic-rush.com/ Thanks for reading Tip New 2012 Car livery set availble. Yup, Abarth, F1600,1800, 2000, Ftarget, KS2 and Osella skins with the 2012 livery, helmets and names is up in the downloads section here: 2012 Livery Our newest member of the team is working on a weekend racing series, Gustavo is organising a small championship, which will run over 4 different tracks over the christmas period. We are sorting things out quickly as possible but more information should be available soon and a website will be created to keep track of things. so look out for C.O.G.S Christmas Cup (Competitive Online Gamer Series) Not looking to replace Radiators series, but looking to give other racers the oppertunity to race competively on a weekend in a smaller one car series championship. I am busy myself, but I am helping to organize and run the servers, with alot of other things going on, I am trying to do alot of time managment so most of the work will be done by Gustavo so you will all have him to thank for the idea and racing. Along with all the things, I am trying to concentrate on setting up the car for the final Monza race in 10 days time. Being the final race in the Radiators All Series championship and could see Vermin Racing Cement itself in the top 10 teams and myself clinching a top 15 place in the championship, there is alot of pressure on performing well, but the main thing is having fun. Hopefully Herman will be racing for the final race in Monza as I have hopes he will run well at the track being a fast driver, it should play to his style. So far, I have been reaching about 1:45's on the track and I think there is alot more in the car than that so always room for improvement. It will be the final race for the old livery as well and either way it goes good or bad, I can honestly say racing in radiators springs series has been so much fun and next year will see me enter the first full (or as many as I am able to) season over at RSR Anyway have a great week all Tip CREMA RACE REPORT Well now that the racing is over it was another close race, wow it felt good to be in Class A with some excellent racers. Here is my race report. Qualiy was a bit of a mixed bag for me, I was flying around at certain points and everytime I set a quicker sector time I came across traffic. Plus a massive accident in turn 1 didn't help my qualiy runs, I came around the corner to see two cars spread across the track and I had no time to react so ended up smashing into Jamsek unfortunatley, but I quickly set about hammering around again and then when I was on a really quick lap (good enough for 3rd because it was .500's up on my best and would of been a low 1:19, I was held up by traffic and didn't have enough time to put in another lap. Still 5th on the grid was a good effort. Race 1 was really good, I got a great start and was harassing the top 4 drivers and was upto 4th and challenging for 3rd when they recovered from a spin, then I took a bit too much curb in turn 1 and went wide, didnt spin but took a trip across the grass rejoined and then was hit by a driver, after which the car had minor damage, and I had dropped right down the field, I fought hard to recatch the pack and was closing in on Dawson in 6th we both crossed the finish line neck and neck, If I had one more lap I reckon I could of made the pass and maybe challenged the two cars directly infront of him, but it would of been a miracle to pass them. It was a really great fight with Dawson. Race 2 didn't go well at all, I got another great start but when I got to turn 1 (again) there was another accident in front of me I tried to brake and avoid the carnage but had no room and hit the car on the inside, this wrecked the cars steering, but I could just about manage to keep up with the pack, so I decided to change my strategy from stopping for fuel at mid distance to doing 4 laps with a damaged car then fueling the car until the end. And it turned out quite well I dropped to last but one after pitting had 2 spins and slightly damaged the car on the second spin but was able to keep up with competitive laptimes despite being really heavy on fuel and having really worn tyres at the end, I think if I hadn't had the 2 spins I would of finished higher up, but I managed to bring the car home in 6th after 30 laps and 26 laps on the same set of tyres. again it was great racing everyone, very competitve and very professional. I look forward to the final race now for the All series league, Hopefully I will have a bit more luck but I am pleased I was on the pace in class A, just a shame the races didn't come together for me. Race 2:
The results have seen me go up in the championship to 17th, the aim for the season is top 15. anything above that I will be estactic!
here are the results: See you at Monza! Tip |
