| AC update review: The update has improved a lot of things about AC, the force feedback effects seem more solid, the graphics are slightly more scalable and the ghost car no longer obscures the view if it is in front of your car whilst hot lapping. The new cars are all impressive, the Zonda especially, it handles like a dream and loves to squirm under braking and acceleration which really gives the sense of power in the car. The lotus 2 Eleven is a really fun little car to drive, very pointy and likes to wiggle around a lot making it so much fun to catch the car as it starts to lose traction and finally the P4/5 handles superbly, it feels glued to the circuit in most corners but feels quite a bit slower than the Zonda, but I prefer the aggressive looks of the P4/5. The new track Mugello, is a really nice addition to the sim. I have never really driven it before but it really flows from corner to corner and feels like an excellent circuit, I can imagine that it will be a lot of fun when the online racing starts. However I don't like the new drifting mode, I think that is down to my personal taste, it's well implemented but just feels so arcadey compared to the rest of the game (apart from the Time Trial mode which is another fire and forget mode for me, I will play it once or when I am really bored with nothing else to do, it's just too arcade like) . I can understand that some people will like that mode but it's just not for me. All in all the update is mighty impressive and if the updates continue to be of this quality then AC will just keep moving the goal posts for other sims. |
